Before I had Bernese Mtn. Dogs and when I was employed for the first time at the age of fourteen, I bought my first dog, "Jake", an English Cocker Spaniel. Thirty-five years later when I was looking for a smaller breed to take to school for therapy work and who wasn't as reactive as my "big ear" Cardigan, Emma, I found the English Cockers again.
While I love the breed, Sunny & Emma are companions only. Sunny visits hospice patients and children as a registered therapy dog and Whisper "uses her nose" to find rats (Barn Hunt & Happy Ratters), scents (nosework) and tracking.
